Austral Bricks
The manufacture, installation and commissioning of brick-making equipment as part of a major upgrade to the Horsley Park Brickworks facility in Western Sydney.
As part of a major upgrade to Austral Bricks’ Horsely Park Brickworks facility in Western Sydney, J C Smale provided mechanical manufacturing, installation and commissioning of brick-making equipment.
J C Smale has a long history of working with the brick-making industry, and was able to bring that extensive experience and skillset to deliver effective mechanical engineering solutions in automating the process at Horsley Park.
In a collaborative partnership, J C Smale and the Brickworks engineering team worked together to meticulously detail, manufacture, install and commission a new setting machine. This machine was designed to meet a production target of more than 40,000 bricks per hour – the equivalent of four to five average-sized houses.
As a result of the upgrade, the facility is now the biggest single-line brick production plant in the world.
